filling the night with scars, the new release by our mainstay g&#322,ós marks the second installment on the ravage white series label. at the core of this release, g&#322,ós seems to build bridges between his ambient side on one hand and his thumping club music side on the other hand. especially the a-side covers the clubbier rhythmic vibe whilst the b-side conveys the more emotional vibe. like in the title track, he builds slowly and smoothly but he stays very precise in which acidic sounds come and fade. with this release, he finds a balance between the nostalgic anthem-like euphoria and a more darker and deeper narrative.

‚narcotic romance’ is a free-basing discofunk jam that sounds like it’s been found in a time capsule on the shore of lake garda, buried deep beneath the ruins of the cosmic club. ‚summer on repeat’ is a slipping and sliding slice of liquid techno that deftly balance playfulness and pathos, with a real emotional undercurrent belying it’s punchy wonkiness. ‚sun sign’ combines the wonk and the disco from both of the preceding tracks, and slows them down to menacing effect, with a chugging discordance that is very correspondant.

testarossa is third studio album by brinstaar. he says that this album is dedicated to redheaded blue-skinned goddess. this work is reflecting brinstaar’s deep and emotional chase for the elusive moment of infinite bliss that keeps him alive and conscious.
while using mainly processed guitars for infotswetock and synths for mielisss, brinstaar uses a lot of acoustic instruments and field recorded sounds in testarossa now, thus creates much more intimate compositions. of course, his specialty mesmerizing synth parts and precisely constructed guitar timbres are still here too.
